Coimbatore: The coronavirus is spreading rapidly in Tamil Nadu. In particular, 34,867 cases were confirmed in a single day yesterday. This has increased the total number of corona outbreaks in Tamil Nadu to 16,99,225.
2 lakh 53,576 cases of virus are being treated. So far, 14,26,915 people have recovered from the virus. However, corona has so far killed 18,734 people in Tamil Nadu. As a result, 3,250 cases were confirmed in Coimbatore district in a single day yesterday.
This has increased the total number of corona outbreaks in the district to 1 lakh 25,151. 97,400 people have recovered from the virus. Of the corona sufferers, 27,189 are being treated. However, 922 people have died due to corona in Coimbatore so far.
A statue of ‘Corona Devi’ has been erected in Coimbatore to protect people from viral infection as the corona outbreak in Tamil Nadu intensifies. The 1.5 feet tall statue of ‘Corona Devi’ has been erected on behalf of Kamakshipuri Day. Daily pujas are also being performed to this statue of ‘Corona Devi’ in Coimbatore.
It has been reported that a special puja will be performed for 48 days to the statue of ‘Corona Devi’ to protect people from corona. It has also been reported that the public is not allowed to participate in the puja.
