A case has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking directions to the Centre and CBSE Board to cancel class 12 examinations as the corona spread in the country continues to increase.
The 2nd wave is spreading sharply in the country. Not less than 3 lakh people are affected and thousands die every day. Subsequently, the CBSE announced the cancellation of the Class 10 examination scheduled for April 14 last. However, CBSE announced that they would postpone the class 12 examinations without specifying a date.
A lawyer has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking directions to cancel the examinations as it is not possible to conduct class 12 examinations in the face of non-spread in the country.
Advocate Mamata Sharma’s petition said: It is not possible to conduct class 12 examinations in the context of increasing prevalence in the country. It is also difficult to get students to appear for the exam on-line or directly. Because we are facing an unprecedented situation. Postponing and not taking decisions without conducting class 12 examinations will affect education if students want to go abroad and study.
