There have been complaints that the police are slow to arrest a DMK leader in connection with the gang rape of a 17-year-old girl near Tambaram.
Crimes against girls are increasing day by day in Tamil Nadu. Various parties have been calling for serious action to prevent this.
Under these circumstances, Karthik(36), his friends Manikandan,30, district in-charge of Chengalpattu of Panangattu Padai Party and DMK website in-charge Dhanasekaran from Tambaram constituency, are understood to have jointly sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl from the same area.
The atrocity has been committed for the girl for nearly 2 years. This has threatened the pregnant girl and made her continue to comply with their wishes.
At one point the little girl told her mother without suffering cruelty, and the matter came out. Later, a complaint was lodged with tambaram all women police station in this regard. Police registered a case and arrested only two persons Karthik and Manikandan on 27th August. The girl was threatened by some people because of the arrest of two people.
The police are slow to arrest Dhanasekara, who is involved in the case. He seems to be trying to get anticipatory bail through the court. Will the case be taken from the right angle due to the complacency of the police? There is a suspicion.
The police should immediately arrest DMK leader Dhanasekara. Many activists insist that the girl who complained should be given proper protection.
