"My parents advised me" said by a Tamilan, who got gifts from Singapore government: Reason ?

The government of Singapore has given gifts to Tamils who helped a blind elderly man cross the road.

Gunasekaran Manikandan (26), a native of Sivaganga, Tamil Nadu, works as a land survey assistant in Singapore. On April 18, a blind elderly man was unable to cross the road on Singapore’s Ang Mo Keo Avenue.
Gunasekaran Manikandan saw this and took the old man by the hand and made him cross the road safely. He was also taken to the hospital as per his wishes. Some people took a video on their cell phones and posted it on social media. The video went viral. So far, 2.8 lakh people have watched the video.

Officials of ‘Ace’, which is run by the Human Power Department of the Government of Singapore, found Gunasekaran Manikandan based on social media video. He was honored and given a gift on behalf of the Government of Singapore.

Gunasekaran Manikandan said, “My parents have advised me to help people with disabilities as much as possible. I am still following that advice. I shared the gifts made on behalf of the government with my friends. My video was watched by mother, father, brother and relatives and appreciated.
